SAT Exam Pattern 2023 - The College Board conducts the Scholastic Assessment Test as per the given SAT 2023 exam syllabus. The SAT exam pattern consists of two major sections: EBRW (Evidence-based Reading and Writing), Math, and an optional essay. The score of these sections is from 200 to 800 points, while the optional essay section has a score range of 2 to 8 points. The scores of SAT are reported in online mode and released in the form of percentile score that lets you compare your scores with the other students. There are four sections in SAT Reasoning. Each section is allotted a fixed time duration within which the students will have to complete the test. The table given below explains the basic test format of SAT reasoning.

The SAT 2023 occasionally includes the questions for research purposes. If such a question appears in the test, the testing time will be extended by 20 minutes, so the candidates will have enough time to answer the questions. However, it should be noted that these kinds of questions will not be included in computing the scores.

SAT EBRW, as mentioned earlier, has two sections, a reading section and a writing and language section. The EBRW section score is the sum of the score of the two sections. The EBRW section has 96 questions with a time limit of 100 minutes to attempt them. The EBRW section focuses on the reading and writing abilities of candidates.

SAT math section consists of two sub-sections, math with calculator and math without calculator. The math section score is the sum of the score of the two sections. The math section has 58 questions with a time limit of 80 minutes to attempt them.

Though the SAT essay test is an optional section, some colleges may require candidates to submit their essay scores for admission. Candidates should pay additional fees for attempting this section.
